After an award-winning London premiere, 10 First Dates, a dark comedy by Portland playwright Christine Rose, is coming home to Portland this November and December!
The play follows Maggie, newly single after 25 years of marriage, as she dives headfirst into the unpredictable world of modern dating. She decides to do an experiment to learn more about what she wants (and more importantly what she doesn’t). She commits to 10 first dates in one month, and she meets some interesting characters! From narcissistic influencers to self-proclaimed spiritual gurus, the men she encounters are anything but predictable.
You might recognize a few of the dates from your own experience. The women in the London audience repeatedly said they had dated every single one of those men, so it’s very relatable.
This new Portland production features an all-woman cast, with Nina Fry as Maggie and Portland native Lauren Hall playing all ten men. Director Samm Hill brings a fresh take on the comedy with lots of physicality and a beautifully designed set.
The London run in March 2026, produced by Gooper Dust Productions, won the London Pub Theatres Magazine Festival Fave Award, a nomination for LPT’s Standing Ovation Award for Best Play, and received four-star reviews.
Now it’s Portland’s turn!
Performance dates: November 20–22 and December 3–6, 2026
