Who I Am

I am a Standing Ovation Award-nominated playwright working in the British fringe, and I write about women who survive.

Women in basements waiting out civil wars. Women on terrible first dates trying to remember who they are. Women who wake up one morning and find the world has stopped seeing them. I write about the moment just before the breaking point — and what happens after.

I came to playwriting in 2024, and I haven’t stopped. Six plays in fourteen months—two produced in London.

I am also a metal artist working out of Past Lives Makerspace in Portland, Oregon and an award-winning author of 12 published books.

Metal Sculpture

Transforming industrial debris into mythology — one weld at a time.

In June 2025, I picked up a welder for the first time. Six months later I had made approximately 70 sculptures — entirely from reclaimed industrial metal. Gears, knives, wrenches, chains, silverware, brake rotors. Each piece named, storied, and alive with meaning.

My monumental weeping Statue of Liberty, Liberty Wept (6’3″, reclaimed metal), will be in a public installation at the Percival Plinth Project in Olympia, WA — where the public will vote on whether she earns a permanent home. My full-scale flying raven, Midnight Ascent (4.5′ wingspan, heat-blued iridescent steel and silverware feathers), is currently showing at Splendorporium Art Gallery in Portland through July 2026.

Memoir

One Reason to Live — a memoir about trauma, survival, and the single thread that kept me here.

“Raw, tender, and ultimately far more moving than anything I’ve read in the genre.” — Manhattan Book Review

“Eloquently written, deeply personal, yet universally recognizable.” — Readers’ Favorite
