A heart of bolts and springs, bound yet beckoning, with a keyhole to love’s mysteries.
Love Locked takes the ancient symbol of the heart and binds it in steel. Springs and bolts hold
its form, a paradox of strength and vulnerability. At its center lies a keyhole — an invitation to mystery. In folklore, the locked heart appears as both treasure and trial: chests of love in Celtic myth, Pandora’s forbidden box, or the fairy tale motif of locked chambers that must never be opened. This sculpture channels that narrative tension. It is both closed and open, forbidding and beckoning. Its welded form suggests both protection and confinement, asking viewers to consider what it means to unlock one’s heart, and what courage it takes to turn the key.
Forged of salvaged bolts and springs, Love Locked holds strength and fragility together. Its keyhole invites reflection on barriers, courage, and intimacy.
